Artist's Statement | ||||
Painting is a moment-to-moment, passionate exploration for me. It is visual music with its own rhythms of color and syncopations of brush strokes, whether through dense impasto or broad sweeping gestures with my hands. The freedom to explore wherever my interests take me in art is a gift I give myself. Whether painting large swirling dancers or small abstractions, my goal is for the process and the painting to feel alive and authentic. I always paint to music; it is my medium of transportation. “Leaving a mark on this world is an aggressive act; standing firm as
